How BetWest uses your personal data, basis by basis

Version effective 9 October 2026.
BetWest, referred to as “we” and “us”, decides how and why the personal data of account holders is used and acts as the controller of that data. This notice applies to visitors to the BetWest site and to registered players in the United Kingdom. The legal basis for each use determines what we may do with the data and what you may ask of us.

Data we use because the account is a contract

When you open an account and play, we need certain data to perform the agreement between us.

  • Full name, date of birth, address, email address, telephone number and preferred currency.
  • Your password, held in a protected form.
  • The record of each deposit, withdrawal, bet and game round.
  • Bonus status and the messages that you send to our support team.

We use this data to open the account, to authenticate you, to process payments and to settle bets and games. If you decline to give it, we cannot provide the account.

Data we use because the law requires it

Gambling and financial rules oblige us to keep and use some data whatever your wishes.

Data we use for our legitimate interests

We rely on legitimate interests where the use is reasonable, expected and does not override your rights.

Security and fraud prevention

We use IP address, device type, browser type, login times and account activity to detect fraud, duplicate accounts and unauthorised access.

Applying player controls

Limits, breaks and closures that you request are recorded and applied, which means we hold the settings and the dates.

Improving the service

Aggregated information about the pages visited and the features used helps us to correct faults and to organise the lobby.
You may object to processing on this basis. Write to us, and we will weigh your reasons against ours.

Data we use only with your consent

Marketing messages

We send promotional messages only where you have agreed or where the law allows it. You can withdraw consent at any time through your account or by writing to us, and the withdrawal does not affect earlier processing.

Cookies

Essential cookies keep you signed in and keep the cashier working, and they cannot be switched off in the site. Cookies that measure traffic or personalise content are used only with your consent, which you can change in your browser settings.

Who receives the data

Payment providers, identity verification providers, game studios that need technical session data, hosting and communication services receive the data that they need and no more. Authorities receive data where the law requires. We do not sell personal data.
Some providers process data outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, we use contractual or other lawful safeguards for the transfer.

How long we keep it

Account data is kept while the account is open and for the period that the law requires after it closes. Records of payments and verification are kept for the period set by financial and gambling rules. When the period ends, data is deleted or made anonymous.

Security of the data

Connections are encrypted, and access to personal data is limited to staff who need it for their work. Keep your password private, and tell us at once if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
